Eleven FBLA Students Advance to State Springfield High School FBLA competed against sixteen other schools in Southeastern Colorado’s District FBLA competition. Those schools include Cheraw, Cheyenne Wells, Crowley County, Eads, Fowler, Holly, Kim, La Junta, Las Animas, McClave, Pueblo Central, Pueblo Centennial, Pueblo West, Rocky Ford, Swink and Wiley. Tyanne Miller a District Officer along with District 7 President Ella Olmedo, Rocky Ford, welcomed the seventeen schools in attendance on Tuesday, February 4th, 2025. Seventeen students along with Mrs. Kathy Self, Advisor were engaged in the opening ceremony on OJC Campus in the newly refurbished Humanities Building. Each student from Springfield competed earlier in a written event and then competed in a live event at OJC. A student may only compete in one event at state so students must choose their event within the first 10 days. Students are allowed to move up in a category if a previous student chooses to drop that certain event. SHS is proud to announce the following winners will advance to State: Thomas Schmidt, 1st in Banking and Financial Systems; Brennan Rothman and Rayne Thomas, 3rd in Business Management; Parker Arbuthnot, 3rd and Rylan Smith, 7th in Introduction to Business Concepts; Braelyn Rosengrants, 4th Introduction to Business Procedures and two teams in Event Planning will advance to State as well. Braylee Dukes and Nolan Hinds (Braelyn Rosengrants, dropped) placed 2nd in Introduction to Event Planning. Gentry Shaw, Rogan Smith and Jersy Speck placed 3rd in Introduction to Event Planning. Students who placed in the top ten at District 7 are to be congratulated. They are Cheyenne Penson, 9th Introduction to Business Concepts, Nolan Hinds, 8th, Jersey Speck 9th and Gentry Shaw 10th in Introduction to Business Procedures. Thomas Schmidt placed 3rd in Economics, Brody Rosengrants placed 10th in Job Interview, Jason Miller and Aden Swanson placed 8th In Marketing and Tyanne Miller placed 10th in Organizational Leadership and 9th in Public Speaking.
