
Due to the anticipated snowfall amounts possible tomorrow, school will not be in session on Thursday, November 7, 2024. JH Basketball with Holly will be rescheduled. HS Knowledge Bowl will not go to Swink. Conditions along Hwy 160 are uncertain and snowfall amounts west and on La Veta Pass are expected to be very high. Determination about game time and leave time for Saturday's playoff football game are yet to be confirmed. Information will be released as soon as possible.

Springfield buses will run mud routes after school on Monday, 11/04/24. North route parents, please pick up at 4:20-4:25pm at the 10-mile corner. Southern route parents, please pick up at Sandy Soil Church at 4;15-4:20pm.

State Results: Sophomore, Parker Arbuthnot, competed in the 2A State Cross Country Championship today at Colorado Springs. He finished the course in 17:40.03 breaking is previous course record by almost 25 seconds. He placed 24th out of 144 of the best 2A runners in the state. Congratulations Parker!

Over the weekend the junior high school knowledge bowl team participated in their first meet of the season. They traveled to Eads where the 7th grade team placed 2nd in their division. Congratulations and Good Luck for the rest of the year!

The cross country team competed at regionals today in Rocky Ford. The Longhorns took on a talented group of runners; region 3 has 6 of the top 20 2A runners in the state. All three runners had a course PR. In the final race of his cross country career, senior, L.J. Wills, ran a personal best, shaving 35 seconds off of his time.
Parker Arbuthnot - 5th/79 (State Qualifier, course PR)
Draven Ferch - 21st/79 (course PR)
L.J. Willis - 38th/79 (PR, course PR)

STATE BOUND! Congratulations to sophomore Parker Arbuthnot for placing 5th/79 at regionals and qualifying for State Cross Country! He will be running at the Norris Penrose Event Center in Colorado Springs on Saturday, November 2nd at 1:00 p.m. Congratulations Parker!
