
The cross country team competed at regionals today in Rocky Ford. The Longhorns took on a talented group of runners; region 3 has 6 of the top 20 2A runners in the state. All three runners had a course PR. In the final race of his cross country career, senior, L.J. Wills, ran a personal best, shaving 35 seconds off of his time.

Time Change: The high school volleyball game scheduled for today at Las Animas has been moved to a 4:00 p.m. start time (previously 5:00 p.m.).

On Friday the high school cross country team traveled to Monte Vista for their last regular season meet. It was a beautiful fall day to run and the Longhorns took advantage. They head to regionals at Rocky Ford on Friday, October 25th and would love to have a few fans cheering them on as they compete for 1 of the 15 spots available for state.

The high school cross country team headed back to higher altitude today when they competed in the Kadet Invitational on the Air Force Academy campus. The Longhorns ran in the division II race which consisted of 2A, and 3A varsity runners as well as 4A and 5A J.V. runners. Sophomore, Parker Arbuthnot lead the race for the first 2 miles; barely getting edged out of first by 0.:03 seconds. The Longhorns travel to Monte Vista on Friday for their last regular season meet.

The junior high cross country team finished their season on Friday with a nice run at Lamar. Boy 7th graders attacked the course and finished their season strong.
