Over the weekend the junior high school knowledge bowl team participated in their first meet of the season. They traveled to Eads where the 7th grade team placed 2nd in their division. Congratulations and Good Luck for the rest of the year!

The cross country team competed at regionals today in Rocky Ford. The Longhorns took on a talented group of runners; region 3 has 6 of the top 20 2A runners in the state. All three runners had a course PR. In the final race of his cross country career, senior, L.J. Wills, ran a personal best, shaving 35 seconds off of his time.

Time Change: The high school volleyball game scheduled for today at Las Animas has been moved to a 4:00 p.m. start time (previously 5:00 p.m.).

On Friday the high school cross country team traveled to Monte Vista for their last regular season meet. It was a beautiful fall day to run and the Longhorns took advantage. They head to regionals at Rocky Ford on Friday, October 25th and would love to have a few fans cheering them on as they compete for 1 of the 15 spots available for state.

On behalf of the Springfield Baptist Church: The Springfield Baptist Chapel is still planning to host the 5th Quarter Chili Supper at the Baptist Chapel at 7pm tonight at 441 Pinion Street. All players, coaches, families, staff and the entire community is welcome. There is no cost, free of charge.
