Edible Color Wheel Icing and Graham Crackers - YUMMY!
SHS students learned all about the color wheel this week in Mrs. West's art class. We ended the week coloring icing in primary and secondary colors and enjoying graham cracker cookies.
Location Change: Due to construction, the junior high basketball games scheduled for Thursday, November 2nd versus Holly have been moved to Holly. The games will start at 3:00 p.m. (C, B and A teams).
The cross country teamed battled freezing temperatures and a talented field of runners today at the state meet in Colorado Springs. Senior, Mylo Lovejoy led the team to a 14th overall finish with an exciting tie breaker against Centauri. All five runners ran a personal best for this course, cutting a combined 4 minutes and 42.2 seconds of off their times from August. Thank you everyone for the support all season long and to the Booster Club for the awesome race socks! It was a Great Day to be a Longhorn!

The Springfield chapter of Future Business Leaders of America held officer installation today. The high school volleyball team concludes their regular season at the "Heart of the Rockies Volleyball Tournament " in Buena Vista on Friday, October 27th and 28th. There is a $10 admission fee and full concessions will be available throughout the tournament. The first match of each day will begin at the time specified on the schedule. Each subsequent match will begin immediately following the conclusion of the previous match. Good Luck Longhorns!
The building trades class assisted a local business with installing siding that was damaged during the summer storms. A portion of the project was funded by a grant from the Baca County Economic Development Commission.

It was another historical day for the Longhorn Cross-Country team! The team conquered the high elevation and tough course to get their names in the records books. For the first time in school history the team placed 4th at regionals securing a spot in the state meet. The Longhorns also had two individual qualifiers, Mylo Lovejoy and Parker Arbuthnot. The team will run at Norris Penrose Event Center on Saturday, October 28th at 10:20 a.m. Congratulations!

State Bound! For the first time in school history the high school cross-country team qualified as a TEAM for STATE!

Due to scheduling issues, Trinidad has cancelled the volleyball game on Tuesday, October 24. This game will not be re-scheduled.
