In the last regular season cross country meet of year, the 8th grade and high school traveled to Monte Vista. It was a beautiful day for a meet and the runners didn't let the 3,304 feet increase in elevation deter them. Both runners finished in the top 12. The high school heads to regionals on Friday, October 21st.

The cross country meet in Lakin today was one of the larger ones the Longhorns have attended. The runners enjoyed the cooler weather and increase of competition. In his final race of the season, Drew George broke his personal record; cutting 1:35 of his time from last year and setting his new PR at 13:33.91. Mylo Lovejoy once again broke his own school record, cutting over 40 seconds off his time last year at Lakin.

Congratulations to Mylo Lovejoy for breaking the school record at the meet in Lakin today. He ran the 5K in 17:50.6 breaking his previous record of 17:54.59. Way to go Mylo!
The junior high volleyball team concludes their season on Monday at the League Tournament in Pritchett. Good Luck Shorthorns!
Today's meet in Lamar was a bit chilly. The junior high team took on Lamar and Rocky Ford and all four runners had a top 10 finish. The team continued their trend of decreasing their times. Today, they cut a combined 6:50 of their times from last year in Lamar. The junior high and high school head to Lakin, KS tomorrow.
