Creative Writing can take many forms. Joy West, Brody Rosegrants, and Rayne Thomas have used their creative writing class to develop a podcast, incorporating writing skills by constructing meaningful interview questions. They are shown in this picture interviewing Superintendent Shelly Swayne about life at Springfield Schools. Look for the link to the podcasts coming soon!

Springfield High School students attended a DUI drama presented by Colorado State Patrol on Wednesday. It was a combined effort involving CSP, Baca Sheriff, Springfield Police, Springfield Fire Department, SECH EMS, Baca Coroner, and UCHealth Flight for Life. Four SHS students participated as victims of a rollover accident simulation caused by drinking and driving. Thanks to all involved parties for demonstrating to students the possible devastating consequences of drinking and driving. As a positive aspect of the event, students were able to see and ask questions about these essential careers.

"What is that wall thing?" Have you asked that question? This is a mock-up used by the construction company. Anything that is in the plans for the new building has to be completed on the mock-up and approved by the architect before for it ever happens on the actual building. It saves time and money by preventing mistakes and misunderstanding. The mock-up has been relocated to the south side of the high school for the remainder of the project.
